Research, Discussion, Exchange of Ideas

The Academy of the Jewish Museum Berlin is a place for research, discussion, and the exchange of ideas on Jewish history and culture as well as on questions of diversity in society. The Academy enriches the Museum's wide spectrum of activities with Academy Programs on Migration and Diversity and a Jewish-Islamic Forum both of which provide a platform for discussing highly relevant sociopolitical themes.

To support research in these fields, the Academy has its own fellowship program, which provides scholars from around the world with the opportunity to conduct research in the library's collections and the Museum's archive.

In addition, the Academy hosts a wide array of events ranging from conferences and lectures to workshops for children, students and educators.

"Zwischenräume"

The academy is located in the Eric F. Ross building at the Fromet und Moses Mendelssohn-Platz across the street from the museum. The concept of the "Zwischenräume," developed by Daniel Libeskind, creates an architectural expansion of the current museum ensemble.
