Heinrich Schnitzler was a writer and director of theater. In early 1938, he accepted an assignment in Belgium, emigrated afterwards to the United States, and first returned to Austria after 1957. He is shown here with Rudolf Beer (1885–1938), the director of the Vienna Volkstheater.
