Preview and reading with Joshua Cohen

On the exhibition Inventories. The Legacy of Salman Schocken

The exhibition Inventories. The Legacy of Salman Schocken is made possible by the FRIENDS OF THE JMB. As a thank you, members can already discover it on the evening before the opening! The Jewish Museum Berlin (JMB) invited US author Joshua Cohen to explore the cultural legacy of the publisher and department-store entrepreneur Salman Schocken. Through books and objects from the JMB collections, Joshua Cohen comments on the history of Salman Schocken’s publishing house, which he takes as a vantage point for a present-day perspective on culture and capital, department stores and museums – and, not least, all manner of (re)acquisition and belonging.
