Voluntary Social Year in Culture

All You Need to Know About a Voluntary Social Year in Culture at Our Museum

Would you like to help shape the Jewish Museum’s cultural work as a volunteer? We offer the opportunity to complete a Voluntary Social Year in Culture at our Education department. The Voluntary Social Year in Culture – part of Germany’s state-funded voluntary work program for young adults – is designed for people between the ages of 16 and 27 who have completed their compulsory education (through 9th grade/age 14). It begins on 1 September of the given year and lasts twelve months.

For the Voluntary Social Year of Culture 2026/2027, we are offering places in the following areas of the museum: exhibitions, children's museum, library, education, visitor experience & research.

The application deadline is 15 March 2026.
