These questions and the respective answers are closely tied to the Jewish holiday of Shabbat, which begins on Friday and varies in duration according to location and season. The first descriptions of Shabbat are found in the Torah, Judaism’s holy book. In this workshop, participants will learn how Jews celebrate Shabbat and which religious and secular rituals can play a role.
The workshop on the weekly holiday of Shabbat includes an exploration of the core exhibition, as well as baking and communally enjoying Challot, the Jewish braided yeast bread traditionally eaten on Friday evening.
