My Jewish Soundtrack

Talk and Concert as Part of Our Cultural Summer (video recording available, mainly in German, with brief sections in English)

Bei Mir Bistu Shein, or socialist labor songs? Israeli folk music or Beastie Boys? Our anniversary guests will offer their own personal insights into the “Jewish soundtrack” of their own lives, and will reveal their favorite song — music that has borne, shaped and moved them. In this way, the conversation started in the Musicroom of our new core exhibition will now extend to the garden, generating new resonances to the question of “Is there a Jewish sound?”

8.15 pm: Concert by Sharon

Young rapper and songwriter Sharon, a native of Tel Aviv, is inspired and influenced by hip-hop from the ‘80s and ‘90s. She writes and produces her songs with tremendous passion, and mixes in old-school hip hop beats with funky R&B vibes. Her first album Floetic, a play on the words flow and poetic, offers a perfect description of her blend of chill grooves and deep texts.
