Menashe Kadishman

Menashe Kadishman was born in Tel Aviv in 1932 and studied sculpture in Israel from 1947 to 1950. In 1959–60 he continued his education in the United Kingdom, studying at St. Martin’s School of Art and the Slade School of Art in London.
Kadishman is the recipient of numerous awards, including
- The First Prize for Sculpture at the Fifth Paris Biennale (1967)
- The Sandberg Prize of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem (1978)
- The Mendel Punik Foundation Prize for Israeli Art (1984)
- The renowned Israel Prize (1995)
In 1978, Kadishman represented Israel at the Venice Biennale. Ever since his first show in 1965, his work has been presented at numerous solo and group exhibitions in Israel and abroad and received international recognition.
Menashe Kadishman died on 8 May 2015.
