The Deutsche Oper Berlin is bringing the masterpiece Das Wunder der Heliane (The Miracle of Heliane) by the Jewish composer Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897–1957) back to life: It is now being brought to their stage for the first time since the Nazis banned its performance. The story of an ice-cold ruler, his unfaithful wife, Heliane, and a nation waiting for a miracle to redeem them is both magical and timeless.
