The Auschwitz Camp Working Group and 27 January in the GDR
Lecture by Alexander Walther with music by Jalda Rebling (in German)
27 January marks the anniversary of the Red Army’s liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1945. Just before this day of commemoration, historian Alexander Walther will give a lecture hosted by the Jewish Museum Berlin, with a musical performance by Chasan Jalda Rebling.

Alexander Walther will speak on the commemoration of 27 January in the GDR and the role of the camp working groups within the “Committee of Anti-Fascist Resistance Fighters”.
Jalda Rebling initiated and led the Days of Yiddish Culture, a project of the UNESCO World Decade for Cultural Development, which took place on 27 January from 1987 to 1997.
