Zigzag-Shaped Architectural Highlight
Slanting walls, sharp angles and gaping voids: the zigzag-shaped building designed by Daniel Libeskind has created its own symbolic language for the history of Jews in Germany. Between the lines was the first of his designs to actually be built—and it made him famous. Today, the Libeskind building is one of Berlin’s architectural highlights. The Axes in the lower level, the Garden of Exile, the Holocaust Tower, and the installation Shalekhet (Fallen Leaves) by Menashe Kadishman are only a few examples of the unique architectural features to be explored.

Core Exhibition Jewish Life in Germany: Past & Present
After more than two years of reconstruction, the Jewish Museum Berlin opened its new core exhibition on August 23, 2020. Rich, diverse and interactive: encompassing 3,500 square meters (almost 38,000 square feet) of floor space, the museum presents the history of Jews in Germany from the Middle Ages to the present day. This historical narrative is punctuated with thematic spaces that expand perspectives on the diversity of Jewish life.
Treasures from the museum collection, everyday objects, as well as works of art, video and audio installations, allow space for reflection and offer surprising insights.

Café, garden and shop

Bus Parking
Parking spaces for about six buses are available on the other side of Lindenstrasse, opposite the Libeskind Building (not reservable). Please note that stopping directly in front of the museum is not permitted.
Important Notes for Planning a Group Visit:
Should I reserve a group visit in advance?
Please use our Group Registration form if you would like to visit the museum with a group. You will receive the tickets for the exhibition at the museum’s ticket counter on the day of your visit.
How can I book a group tour?
You can inquire about a tour for your group by email, telephone or online. We recommend booking about 4–6 weeks before the desired date.
What languages can I book group tours in?
It is possible to book tours in German, English, French, Hebrew, Italian, and Spanish. Other options, including Simple German and German Sign Language, may be available on request.
May I offer private (“licensed”) tours of the museum?
You may reserve tours or arrive with your own guide for a licensing fee. You must reserve your group in advance and purchase a license.
