Monika Sommerer, head of the JMB Library, regularly gives tours of the library’s history and extensive collection. She presents special works on various subjects – from first editions of writings by important Jewish authors and volumes on art to prayer, address, cookery and children’s books.

This tour is dedicated to cookbooks from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, works which also tell of Jewish life in Germany – of tradition, assimilation, emancipation, exclusion and exile.
