Tolerance of ambiguity and antisemitism
Part of the Lecture Series Where Does the Truth Lie? On Tolerance of Ambiguity (in German)
Prof. Ilka Quideau (Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences) examines the role of accusations of antisemitism in current public debate, taking a psychoanalytical perspective. What is negotiated when you accuse people of being antisemitic? What is left out? What is the point of the accusation?
Using the example of documenta fifteen and the antisemitic incidents in many German cities after the Hamas massacre on 7 October 2023, Quindeau highlights the complex dynamics of the debate, relating them to the concept of the tolerance of ambiguity.
